Cowboys and Eagles Face Off in a Division Where No Team Has Won in Weeks
Two losing teams meet Monday night with both sides trying to claw back into the NFC East race after a historic dry spell for the division.

Zero wins. That is the total number of victories any team in the NFC East has secured over the past two weeks. This statistical anomaly marks the first time since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970 that every team in a single division failed to win a game during a two-week span.
The New York Giants currently hold the division lead at 3-2-1. Behind them, the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles are both sitting at 2-4. Because the division has been so inconsistent, a win on Monday night in Philadelphia would significantly improve either team's chances of making a late-season push for a playoff spot.
Philadelphia enters the game on a four-game losing streak, their longest since 2020. The offense has struggled deeply, scoring only 58 points across those four losses. Quarterback Jalen Hurts is on injured reserve and expected to miss the rest of the season due to blood clots. This leaves Tanner McKee, who spent the first two years of his career as a backup, leading the unit.
McKee previously made two starts after the team had already secured a playoff berth. Last week's loss to Carolina was his first true pressure start. He had only two days of first-team practice before that game. This week, he has had a full week to work with first-year offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. McKee noted he feels well-prepared and plans to collaborate more closely with the coaching staff rather than working in isolation.
The Eagles' running game is also in disarray. Saquon Barkley has missed more than two games with a hamstring injury, though a return is possible. Backups Will Shipley and Tank Bigsby are also injured. Carson Steele, recently elevated from the practice squad, suffered a shoulder injury against Carolina. Dameon Pierce was the only healthy option, rushing for 35 yards in that loss. The Cowboys have allowed 4.7 yards per carry this season.
Dallas faces its own challenges. Under first-year coordinator Christian Parker, the defense ranks 30th in the league. The offense scored just 29 points in its last two games, including a 23-13 loss to Green Bay last week. The team has scored fewer than 20 points in consecutive starts by Dak Prescott for the first time since 2019.
Owner Jerry Jones spoke at the NFL's annual fall meeting on Wednesday. He stated he does not expect further coaching changes this season. He described the recent hiring of Mike Pettine as a strategic and unique move for the roster.
Several statistical milestones are on the line for the players. Javonte Williams is the second Cowboys player with seven rushing touchdowns through the first six games, trailing only Emmitt Smith from 1994 and 1995. CeeDee Lamb has 48 receptions, the most in franchise history through six games and third in the NFL. He is approaching 8,000 career receiving yards. Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert needs one catch to reach third place on the team's career receptions list.
Dallas is favored by four points. The Cowboys are 3-3 against the spread this season, while the Eagles are 1-5. Dallas holds a 72-58 advantage in the all-time series and won the last meeting 24-21 on Nov. 23, 2025. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. CST on ESPN.
After Monday, the Eagles play at Washington on Nov. 1 and then host the Giants. This stretch of games will likely determine if Philadelphia's season can be saved.
