Marcus Theatres is pairing the Milwaukee Brewers' World Series run with discounted drinks and classic baseball films. The chain announced a package of watch parties and special screenings at locations across the region. The promotion marks the team's first appearance in the postseason finale in 44 years.
Jeff Tomachek, president of Marcus Theatres, said the company has waited a long time for this moment. "We've been waiting 44 years for a moment like this, and we couldn't be more excited to celebrate alongside our Milwaukee community," Tomachek said. He described the theaters as gathering spots for fans to watch games or revisit the history of the 1982 team.
Game-day deals at participating sites include domestic drafts for $5 and Game Time Lemonades for $9. Medium pizzas cost $10, and appetizers are priced at half cost. The discounts apply to specific locations during the series.
Members of the Magical Movie Rewards program will receive a voucher for one free Junior popcorn. To qualify, members must see any movie by October 31. The voucher can be redeemed from November 4 through November 24. Non-members can sign up for free before visiting to receive the offer.
Fans can watch games on TVs and digital projectors in the bars and lounges of several Marcus locations. Participating watch party sites include Movie Tavern Brookfield, Marcus Majestic Cinema of Brookfield, Marcus Renaissance, Marcus Menomonee Falls, Marcus North Shore Cinema, and Marcus BistroPlex. The Wall at Gurnee Cinema is also hosting a sports bar experience.
Screenings of the documentaries "UECK" and "Just a Bit Outside: The Story of the 1982 Milwaukee Brewers" are scheduled at ten locations. These include Marcus Bay Park Cinema in Ashwaubenon, Marcus Green Bay East Cinema in Green Bay, Marcus Hillside Cinema in Delafield, and Marcus Hollywood Cinema in Appleton.
