Westchester Narcotics Probe Ends With Seizure Of Cocaine, Oxy, And Ammo

Police seized cocaine, oxycodone, and ammunition from a Westchester County home this week, concluding a three-month probe into drug trafficking at a public housing complex. The raid marked the end of an investigation led by the Westchester County Police Department Narcotics Unit.

Three Peekskill men were arrested on Thursday following the inquiry. The operation targeted suspected narcotics activity at the Dunbar Heights complex in Peekskill. The Peekskill Police Department Detective Division assisted the county unit during the investigation.

Omar Travis, 59, and Rodney Jones, 57, face charges for criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession with intent to sell. Kristopher Gaffney, 57, was charged with felony tampering with physical evidence. Westchester County Public Safety Commissioner Terrance Raynor stated the department remains committed to targeting illegal narcotics through coordinated efforts with local and federal agencies.

Raynor thanked the Peekskill Police Department for its collaboration in the investigation. The arrests followed a sustained focus on the Dunbar Heights property, which officials identified as a hub for suspected drug activity.

Two suspects appeared before a judge at Peekskill City Court. Travis was remanded to the Westchester County Jail. Jones was released on his own recognizance. Gaffney received an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to Peekskill City Court on Nov. 5.
