Lamar Jackson will miss the rest of the season after suffering a thumb injury on the first play of the game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Coach Jesse Minter confirmed that Jackson will undergo surgery and be placed on injured reserve. The injury occurred when Jackson's right hand struck edge rusher Greg Rousseau's arm while attempting a pass to Zay Flowers. Jackson returned to the sideline with his thumb in a splint.

The loss was compounded when backup quarterback Tyler Huntley injured a toe while being sacked and fumbling the ball during Baltimore's fourth series. It is currently unclear if Huntley will be available for Baltimore's next game. Emergency third-string quarterback Joe Fagnano, an undrafted rookie from Connecticut, completed the game. In his NFL debut, Fagnano completed 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards and one interception.

The Buffalo Bills won the game 36-10 despite a sluggish first half. They trailed or held a slim lead early on, settling for field goals and a touchdown in the first 30 minutes. The Ravens cut the lead to 16-10 on a 26-yard field goal by Tyler Loop to start the second half. After that, the Bills took control, scoring touchdowns on three of their first four drives of the second half.

Josh Allen led the offense with 289 passing yards on 21 of 34 attempts. He threw two touchdown passes and scored another on a rush. Dalton Kincaid caught a 23-yard touchdown pass, and D.J. Moore scored on an 11-yard reception on consecutive fourth-quarter possessions. James Cook also added a 5-yard rushing touchdown. Tyler Bass made all three of his field goal attempts, including a 56-yarder, extending his franchise record streak to 21 consecutive makes.

The Bills' defense forced three turnovers and recorded four sacks. They limited Baltimore to 144 total yards. This performance was a step up for a unit that had allowed 29 or more points in five of its previous six games. The victory marks the ninth time in franchise history that Buffalo has started the season 6-1. It is also their ninth straight win coming out of a bye week under Allen.

Derrick Henry scored the only touchdown for Baltimore on a 2-yard run. His catch was the 136th from scrimmage in his career, tying Marshall Faulk for fourth on the NFL all-time list. However, the Ravens were plagued by mistakes. They committed three turnovers, and Henry had another rushing touchdown negated by a holding penalty. Tyler Loop also missed a 34-yard field goal attempt.

The Bills were flagged 10 times for 87 yards of penalties. Wide receiver Josh Palmer was ruled out early in the game after hurting his right hamstring. On the Ravens' side, cornerback Nate Wiggins was evaluated for a concussion in the fourth quarter.

Allen reached 102 career wins, moving past Tom Brady for third in the NFL among players through their first nine seasons. The game was marked by five total turnovers. Three came from Baltimore, while the Bills turned the ball over twice.

The Ravens will host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night. They will face a short week to determine if Huntley is healthy enough to play. The Bills will travel to Minnesota for a Monday Night Football matchup against the Vikings on November 9.
