The former First Lady's ex-wife shared test results on Friday, six months after her April diagnosis. Vanessa Trump, 48, posted a short video to the Instagram account of her 19-year-old daughter, Kai. In the clip, she stated her recent test results "came back clear, so I'm finally cancer-free." She is the mother of five children with Donald Trump Jr.

The announcement came after a timeline that began in April. Trump said she was first diagnosed in that month. She made the news public in May. At that time, she wrote on social media that she had undergone surgery. She also said she was working on a treatment plan with her medical team.

Kai Trump provided context in the caption of the Instagram post. She noted that the short clip previews a longer video release. That release is planned for Saturday. The longer video features the mother and daughter discussing breast cancer awareness and prevention. Kai explained that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

"October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about early detection, education, and support for those affected by breast cancer," Kai wrote. She added that she sat down with her mother and Dr. Nicole Saphier. The goal was to talk about the journey and learn more about prevention and early detection.

The post drew immediate attention online. It received more than 20,000 likes. Hundreds of comments followed, with many users offering support. American singer and media personality Mary Millben was among the people who commented on the post.

Trump has been in the public eye since her high-profile separation from Donald Trump Jr. in 2018. Last year, she announced she had begun dating US pro golfer Tiger Woods. Her health update arrives during a month dedicated to the disease nationally.

The American Cancer Society reports the average risk for a US woman developing breast cancer is about 1 in 8, or 13%. The group states the disease accounts for 30% of all new female cancers each year. Surgery cures most cases. Where disease remains, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and endocrine therapy can lower long-term risk.
