Moshe Dayan Road in Tel Aviv became a crime scene on Monday morning after two men were found dead from gunshot wounds near a senior citizens center and a bank entrance. Initial police findings indicate one brother, in his 70s, shot the other, who was in his 50s, before taking his own life.
A handgun was recovered near the location where the bodies were discovered. The incident was reported at 9:32 a.m. to the Magen David Adom emergency call center in the Dan region. Paramedics arrived to find the men unconscious in the street, with no pulse and no breathing. Medical teams pronounced both dead at the scene due to penetrating wounds.
Meir Grossman, an emergency medical technician with the MDA motorcycle unit, described the immediate situation. He stated that the team saw the two men lying in the street with visible injuries and performed examinations that confirmed their deaths. The bodies were positioned on the sidewalk close to the building entrance where the gunfire originated.
A nearby resident recalled the sequence of events. She heard gunshots beneath her building and initially feared a terrorist attack. She locked her windows and waited for the noise to stop. When silence fell, she ran downstairs to investigate and saw the two men lying still on the pavement. She described the morning as terrifying and said her body was still shaking from the shock of the sight.
Officers from the South Tel Aviv station and police investigators secured the area and began determining the circumstances of the shooting. The investigation remains open as authorities gather evidence from the street and the surrounding area. The precise timeline between the first shot and the second is being reviewed as part of the ongoing inquiry.
The location is a busy thoroughfare in the city center. The presence of a senior citizens center and a bank branch nearby drew attention to the scene quickly. Emergency vehicles crowded the street as medics worked to stabilize the scene before the bodies were moved for further examination.
