Pueblo residents have one last chance for warm weather on Friday, Oct. 23, before a sharp temperature drop hits the region.

The city’s forecast shows a high of 80 degrees and a low of 52. Morning temperatures started in the 50s, but clouds broke to allow sunshine and afternoon warming. This marks the end of a recent warm spell for the area.

A cold front is moving across Colorado from the west. It is expected to bring more cloud cover and generate storms farther south. On the south side of Pueblo, the chance of rain on Friday stands at 10% to 20%. The probability of rain increases significantly during the weekend.

Temperatures will fall sharply as the front passes through Friday into Saturday morning. Saturday’s high is projected to reach only the 50s, a drop of about 30 degrees from Friday’s peak. Sunshine was expected along Interstate 25 around 10 a.m. as morning clouds cleared, though the front may support thunderstorms farther east.

Neighboring cities will experience similar shifts. Canon City faces a high of 75 and a low of 49, with a 20% to 30% chance of afternoon showers. Woodland Park is forecast to top out at 58 degrees with a low of 39. The Tri-Lakes area near Monument will see a high of 69 and a low of 43, followed by Saturday highs in the 50s.

Farther south, Walsenburg and Trinidad are expected to reach 73 and 74 degrees, respectively. These cities will see their warmest day in the next seven days on Friday before weekend highs fall into the 50s. The eastern plains may see thunderstorms return by Friday evening after a sunnier start, with afternoon temperatures in the 70s and 80s.

Mountain areas forecast highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s. Lingering moisture and flooding remain concerns in southwestern Colorado as water levels take time to recede. Conditions are expected to improve next week, with sunshine and temperatures gradually warming into the 60s. The preliminary Halloween outlook calls for dry weather and temperatures in the 50s and 60s.
