A vehicle opened fire on a crowd outside a licensed venue in Loganholme, wounding four people during a scheduled boxing event. The incident occurred at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, south of Brisbane, when officers responded to reports of gunshots. Police confirmed that the vehicle involved was seen leaving the scene shortly after the shooting. All four injured individuals were transported to a hospital for treatment, where their conditions are currently being assessed.

Queensland police deputy commander Chris Stream described the scene as "confronting." He noted that a number of people suffered gunshot wounds at the location. The venue, Fitzys Loganholme on Bryants Road, was hosting the Logan City Titles Fight Night. The event was organized to showcase local boxing talent and provide a family-friendly environment for the community.

Logan Mayor Jon Raven said the incident sent a shockwave through the area. He stated that residents were frightened and that this was the first time something like this had happened in Logan. Raven said his thoughts were with the victims, staff, and attendees. He recalled attending similar events in the past and described them as welcoming to children. "This will impact them for the rest of their lives," Raven said regarding the children present at the event.

The mayor explained that the night was designed to help steer children away from violence. He said the organizer uses boxing to empower and reconnect young people who might be struggling. Raven noted that the organizer would be devastated because the goal was to connect young people, not have them hit by a drive-by. "This is the opposite of what he'll want to see," Raven said.

The Logan City Titles organization posted a statement on social media on Sunday morning. The group said it was heartbroken about the incident. The organizers described the event as a community showcase for local talent and hard work. The statement added that such incidents have no place in the boxing community or the wider community.

Police said the offenders remain at large. They stated that they did not believe there was an ongoing threat to the public. Authorities urged anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
